Background information:

The purpose of this theme is to examine and discuss some of the challenges facing providers and researchers in the area of Social Computing, particularly when the important area of Pervasive Computing is added to the equation.
The webinar will begin with an overview of the key research challenges in the area of Social Networking. Following this a brief overview of the FP7 SOCIETIES project will be presented, with a specific focus on integration of Pervasive Computing concepts (single/multi-user pervasiveness, dynamic community formation, context management, using SNS as context sources, and personalisation) with Social Computing. The discussion will conclude with a discussion on next steps in terms of continuing the research in these areas.

The theme will be presented by the Challenger, Kevin Doolin (CV below), during a webinar on Friday, September 2nd, at 12:00. Please register for the webinar at the bottom of this page.

The discussion will be moderated by Jan Kaczmarek form the Hola! project.
